Determination of metals in cuban honeys
Main Article Content
Abstract
In this work, the metal content in Cuban honeys was determined. Monofloral (Leñatero, Romerillo, Guao de Costa and Mangle Prieto) and polyfloral honeys from several provinces of Cuba were studied using atomic absorption spectrometry. Metals Ca, Mg, Fe and Zn were found in all samples; Ni in leñatero, romerillo de costa and mangle prieto and Cu in romerillo de costa and guao de costa. Mn, Co, Cd and Pb were not detected. The safety of the honey could be verified according to the recommended international limits.
