Integration of technologies to increase the apicultural productions in Cuba

Abstract
A project, aiming to contribute to the sustainability and consistency of beekeeping quality in Cuba, is in progress with these specific objectives: To promote the multiplication of honey plants with high selectivity for the separation of nectar and pollen using biotechnological methods. Apply integrated management technologies to improve the quality of honey. Propose a methodology for developing beekeeping model of excellence and encourage production of honey and its derivatives in the country from the experience of Villa Clara. The main tasks of the project are the reforestation with honey plants in different areas in the municipalities of the Villa Clara province with demanded plants. Increase production of honey and its derivatives by 25%, in different apiaries of the province, with the implementation of new management technologies and disinfection of hives and honey flower availability during periods of low segregation of nectar with a high percentage of sugars. Implementation and validation of the methodology for the development of the apiaries model of excellence that will increase the production of honey and contribute to improving the rigorous work of beekeepers to revenues while achieving satisfactory. An increase in the production of honey in the province will be achieved at the end of this project, motivating the interest of beekeepers from around the country to implement the project results.
