Abstract

Gouania polygama (Jacq.) Urb., whose common name is linen vine, is one of the plants that provides high productions of monofloral honey in Cuba. In this work, 22 samples of linen vine from Camagüey and Matanzas provinces were studied with objective of evaluating some of its chemical properties. The content of total polyphenols, total flavonoids, conductivity and total proteins were determinate. In addition, a comparison of these parameters was carried out to analyze whether there are differences between the honeys of each province. In general, results were obtained within the expected ranges and only differences were found in the conductivity values for the samples from both provinces.
