Parasitological diagnosis in honey bee in the territorial lab of imv of San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque

Abstract
Varroasis and acarapisosis are parasitic diseases of great significance for beekeeping. With the purpose of analyzing the behavior of the parasite diagnosis in the territorial IMV laboratory of San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, the information gathered in the Sample Case Registrations of this laboratory in the period 2005-2007, was revised. The total of samples was determined in the period, for years, months and municipalities; the total types of samples, for years and months and the rates of cases examined that were identify as positive to Varroa and Acarapis for years and months. In the period a total of 2074 samples were analyzed with an annual mean of 230 and a range from 155 to 310. The monthly mean was of 173 samples with a fluctuation from 39 to 332. The biggest amounts of samples were sent in the first semester. The municipalities that send the biggest quantities of samples are San José de las Lajas, Melena and Jaruco. 87% of the samples were bees and 13% honeycombs of breeding, with a similar behavior for years and months.
