Evaluation of the honey potentialities in the municipality of Artemisia

Abstract
The recent growth of apiculture production, driven by the increase in the prices of honey and agricultural policies to stimulate this activity, has aroused the interest of producers and specialists to know the areas with potential for beekeeping in the municipality of Sagebrush. The present investigation pursues the objective of evaluating the potentialities of the territory from the temporality of the species of honey plants. For this, four maps were made that reflect the behavior of the potentials in the different quarters of the year, with a spatial analysis in the distribution of the apiaries. This study showed that in the municipality there are only two types of potential: medium, located north of the region in the months of January to March and south in the area of mangroves, during the months of April, May and June; while in the rest of the region low potentials remain throughout the year, with a predominance of sustaining species and vines associated with crop areas and secondary vegetation.
