Caracterización antibacteriana del propóleos de los municipios Madruga y Mariel de la provincia La Habana

Abstract
The antibacterial action of propolis from the municipalities of Mariel and Madruga in the province of Havana was determined by this work. Three samplings were carried out in different seasons in each municipality and it was analyzed a total amount of 91 samples of propolis from different apiaries. This work was in vitro using alcoholic extracts of propolis, following the technique of the double radial diffusion in agar with different stumps. The results demonstrated that all propolis showed an antibiotic activity and they proved to be more effective against the gram positive and gram negative bacterias. It could be appreciated that the antibacterial action of the extracts is the same or almost the same within a month in different years; and it was not possible to locate specific zones or areas in the municipalities of Mariel and Madruga which have a determinate effectiveness. This makes possible to infer the diversity of antibacterial action of propolis extracts.
