Preliminary results of anemic sheeps treated with pollen

Abstract

By its contents in nutritive substances pollen constitutes a nutritional supplement of an exceptional value. Before its use in the treatment of anemic in human beings we decided to do this study in 34 sheeps from the central laboratory of veterinary diagnosis controlling the indices of hemoglobin and hematochrit. Besides the hematological control other biochemical and at the end of the experiment. Ground pollen was given to the anemic animals at a rate of 30 g daily for 10 days. As a result a significant (p<0.01) increase in hemoglobin and hematochrit was obtained.
