Resumen

Varios son los factores asociados con la disminución de la población de polinizadores no Apis, incluido el aumento de los patógenos de A. mellifera a estas especies como consecuencia de los eventos de transferencia inter-específicos. Algunos de los virus más comunes en las abejas melíferas y el microsporidio Nosema ceranae que han sido relacionados con el Síndrome de Colapso de las Colmenas también se han detectado en abejorros, abejas sin aguijón, abejas solitarias y avispas sociales. La pérdida de polinizadores en las próximas décadas podría ser un factor crítico en la sostenibilidad de las poblaciones humanas.
