Se realiza un ensayo clínico fase 2 aleatorizado, y se conforman 2 grupos de pacientes de ambos sexos, entre los 15 y 44 años de edad, con diagnóstico clínico de estomatitis aftosa. Al grupo estudio se aplica el propóleo al 5 % y al grupo control el tratamiento convencional. Se concluye que la aplicación de la tintura de propóleo al 5 % en el tratamiento de la estomatitis aftosa es un método satisfactorio, que corrobora la aplicación efectiva de esta tintura.  Effectiveness of the use of propolis in the treatment of aphtous stomatitis.This study was intended to evaluate the effectiveness of 5% propolis tinction for the treatment of aphtous stomatitis. A phase II randomized clinical assay was conducted on 2 groups of patients of both sexes aged 15-44 years, which were diagnosed with aphtous stomatitis. The study group was treated with 5% propolis tinction whereas the control group was applied the standard treatment.
